We do hope you will find the information you've been looking for and that you will enjoy cruising through our site. We hope that it tells the story of the Christ and His impact upon a small group of followers seeking to serve Him here in Sussex County.
It is our hope that you might be moved to come and worship with us. Community Lutheran is located in a rapidly growing part of Sussex County and we are attempting to reach out and meet the spiritual needs of our neighbors. Our neighbors are the long time residents, new residents entering retirement or a change of residence, and simply folk who have come to the Delaware Beaches for a weekend or longer. All of you are welcome to come and be a part of our worship life and any of the activities from among the many ministries of our congregation listed on our website.
Most of us have come to this place from other parts of our country, hence we know what it means to be a stranger in a new place. From that experience we also know what it means to be a welcoming place, how important it is to extend the warmth and caring of the Christ to all who enter our doors. Come and see, you will feel the difference.
We are an ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America) congregation that is young at heart, with a commitment to growth and mission. Our congregation meets to celebrate Holy Communion at 10:30 AM on Sundays. At 9:00 AM on Sundays, a vibrant group of adults meet to share the Word in study and prayer. We also have an excellent choir that rehearses at 9:00 AM on Sunday mornings. Hope to see you soon.
Our partner in mission is Grace of God Lutheran Church. They are centered on the north side of Rehoboth and Indian River Bays. If you've been in the area over the past five years during the summer, you may remember this congregation as The Long Neck Lutheran Summer Mission. We rejoice at the birth of this new daughter congregation. You are invited to worship with Grace of God at the Cheer Center on Long Neck Road at 10:00 AM on Sunday mornings. Community Lutheran is off the beaches, but certainly worth the few extra minutes of travel time. Come as a visitor and stranger, leave as a friend.
