GROWING MINISTRY
ALL MEETINGS CANCELED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything,
but only God who gives the growth.
With the help of the Holy Spirit, the purpose of the Growing Ministry is to develop programs and ministries that will lead to growth in love of God and neighbor, faith, stewardship, membership and life together as church.

Christian Communications Team
The Christian Communications team goal is to facilitate better communications within the congregation and to the community. The team manages our paid weekly ads in local newspapers, overseas creation and publication of special Advent and Lenten ads, works with reporters from local newspapers to have articles, usually with pictures, written on special occasions at the church. The team monitors the availability of pens, magnets etc. for distribution to visitors. The team interacts with and supports efforts by other teams in issuing our Directory of Disciples (telephone listing) and the electronic issuance of weekly bulletins and other announcements to the congregation. Our web site and electronic calendar are administered by team members.
Shepherding Team
The Shepherding Team is a team of volunteer CLC members who assist new members in becoming oriented to CLC's organization, activities, and facilities. The goal of the program is to have new members achieve a more fulfilling church life experience by becoming aware of the variety of opportunities that match their interests. No regular meetings are held as the team is organized for short periods of service, and team members are assigned as shepherds as directed by the Pastor.
Stewardship Team
Our vision is - To know Christ and to make Christ known.
Our vision is - To know Christ and to make Christ known.
Knowing Christ brings us to an understanding that all that we have, all that we are, and all we are becoming is defined by our baptismal relationship to Christ, as well as our relationship to our Creator. To know Christ is to know the Father. We believe that we are the caretakers of all of the resources provided by our Father in heaven.
Making Christ known is our intentional care of creation, our families, our community, and ourselves. Our Creator is deserving of our thanks and praise. This is not by words alone. We are called to live our thanks and praise. We are called to serve and obey our Father in heaven.
We encourage the practice of tithing (returning 10% of our income to Christ through our regular offerings to the congregation.) This Biblical principle is one principle of stewardship. Each member is asked to commit to service roles through our Time and Talent surveys. God’s Work; Our Hands encourages us to strive to care for creation and one another, remembering that all belongs to God. We are the caretakers. We want to be good stewards as Disciples of Christ.
WORSHIP & MUSIC Team
The Worship and Music Team meets monthly on the fourth Tuesday at 2:00 PM. The Team works with the Pastor and the Director of Music and assists the Council in seeing that the services of CLC are conducted regularly and in accordance with the liturgy of the ELCA. Worship and Music: supervises the Assisting Ministers, Communion Assistants, Altar Guild, ushers, and greeters; provides and maintains musical instruments, robes, and worship service books; ensures that sanctuary candles and weekly and seasonal flowers are provided for, and that the sanctuary is kept in a manner to enhance the worship experience of those attending our church.
Outreach Ministry to Rehabilitation Centers
Deacon Jim Gelato leads our outreach ministries to Atlantic Shores and Renaissance Re-habilitation Centers. We conduct worship services with homily, song, and Holy Communion on the 1st Saturday of each month at Atlantic Shores in Millsboro at 10:00 AM, and on the last Wednesday of each month at Renaissance in Long Neck at 10:30 AM. A team of faithful volunteers gathers each month to bring Word and Sacrament to those who are otherwise unable to receive it. All are welcome at these services.
